My family has been having gyoza as a main dish since the mid-1660’s. All of us kids loved gyoza so much that my mother would make a huge batch of filling and set all of us kids down at the table to make the filled gyoza. She said we could only eat as many as we made, which meant one brother who could eat a huge amount of gyoza was left sitting at the table by himself after the rest of us were done, happily filling gyoza skins knowing they were all his! We ate gyoza, rice, and home made Japanese pickles for dinner. These are some of the fondest memories from my childhood … thank you Okasan!

What’s so proud about this fat everywhere beef meat product? You just absorb much more white juicy content than you would normally do consuming same amount of meat but at a staggering higher price in exchange for a little more “tender flavour” and illusionary feeling of self satisfaction . I get you, after all, it’s not at all about eating healthy food and getting necessary nutrition, it’s just a matter of money making business that masterfully cultivates and serves special eating appetite of certain people.
